There can be a total transformation in some people when they own their very own greenhouse. This is a story about a man that purchased a greenhouse from me.
To give you a little background about this man. He is a recluse and does not socialize much with people. He has lived as a recluse for several years and when he has people come over to his house, he gets excited to have people to talk to.
We will call this man Kenny. Kenny’s world started to change when myself and a friend of mine Steve would talk to him about pouring the foundation to build his greenhouse. Kenny called the Sales Manager for Rion several times because he wanted to talk about his new investment, a greenhouse. He just wanted everyone to know that he is joyous, even though he has a poker face at times.
What I noticed as a change in Kenny’s behavior was that he could take pride in himself by growing little babies, something that would be good for him to do as a hobby. Kenny has been on disability for quite some time and so this is just the perfect thing for him to occupy his time.
He has sure enjoyed us being there to talk to him about his greenhouse because it brings him joy to talk about it, not counting the human exposure benefits. Kenny has also enrolled his neighbors in his cause by talking to them about his new greenhouse that is being built. What a wonderful thing for me to see when I see a transformation of happiness come upon people that has ownership of a greenhouse. These little sproutings are the children he never had and so he could give them the love.
There is something to say about when people are self reliant. It brings self worth, responsibility, pride, and joy. A positive mindset of self emerges when we do for ourselves. We get to grow our own food and not depend on the rising costs of food and grocery store prices .
This topic of self reliance is especially important to me as well as most Americans. We live in uncertain times and so it is always good for us to grow our own food as well as having food canned and stored away.
Kenny watches the news as much as anyone does, which has brought him concern about cost and availability of food. He knows that growing his own food is important for several reasons and that is why he decided to own his very own food source.
